Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
This policy explains what data the Diana app (“Diana”, “the app”, “we”) collects and why. Questions: [email protected].
1. Who the app is for
The app is only for people who are 18 or older. Diana is a fictional character: her replies are written by software (a large language model), not by a person.
2. What we collect
Sign-in. You sign in with Apple or with your email address and a one-time code. With Apple, Apple gives us a stable, anonymous identifier of your account and we don’t ask for your email address; with email, we keep the address you confirmed. The app receives the name on your Apple Account only if you allow it when signing in, and uses it only as a default name you can change.
Your name. The name you give in the app, so Diana can call you by it.
Your conversation. Your messages and photos, Diana’s replies, what she remembers about you (short facts from your conversation) and how she feels about you.
Purchases. Details of your App Store subscriptions and purchases (transaction number, product, period), so we can turn on Premium and apply what you bought. Apple processes payments; we never receive your payment details.
Notifications. Your device’s Apple push notification token and your notification settings.
Channel. Your reactions to Diana’s posts.
Time zone and App Store country. Your device’s time zone, so Diana’s first messages after a silence reach you in the daytime. The country or region of your App Store account (not your location), so an advertiser can show an ad only in some countries.
Interests. General topics you talk about with Diana, like travel or games, without details. You can see them and remove any of them in Profile → Privacy.
Ads. On the free plan: which of Diana’s ad messages you were shown and whether you opened, hid or reported them.
Reports. Reports you send about Diana’s replies and ads, together with the reply or the ad.
Technical data. Server logs: request times and errors. The text of your messages is not written to logs.
3. Why we use it
To let Diana reply to you and remember your conversation, to make subscriptions and purchases work, to show ads on the free plan, to send the notifications you allowed, and to protect the service from abuse.
4. Ads
On the free plan, Diana sometimes writes a short ad message after her reply, in her own words, from an advertiser’s brief. It’s always marked Ad with the brand’s name, and its menu says why you’re seeing it and lets you hide or report it. Plus and Premium have no ads, and there are none in your first 3 days.
An ad is picked by the app’s language, your plan, your local time, your App Store country if the advertiser chose countries and, if personalized ads are on and your App Store country is the United States, the general topics of your interests. Ads are never tied to your health, feelings, relationships, money, religion or politics. You can turn personalized ads off in Profile → Privacy; the topics are then not used for ads.
Advertisers never get your data: they see only daily totals for their campaigns (how many ads were written, seen, opened, hidden or reported). An ad’s button opens the advertiser’s website in the app’s browser, without your account id. There are no advertising SDKs in the app, and we share nothing with ad networks.
6. How long we keep it
As long as you have an account; what remains after you delete it is described below. Your whole conversation is kept so you can scroll back through it.
7. Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Delete account. This deletes your account, conversation, photos, Diana’s memory of you and your relationship, your reactions, interests and notification tokens.
Purchase records are kept without any link to you, so a subscription can be restored on a new account and one-time purchases are not applied twice. Reports you sent about Diana’s replies are also kept without any link to you, as a record for moderation. Records of the ads you were shown stay only as anonymous numbers in advertisers’ totals.
If you can’t open the app, email [email protected] and we’ll help.
8. Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, change your name, erase facts from Diana’s memory, remove your interests, turn personalized ads off and delete your account entirely. For anything else, write to [email protected].
Depending on where you live, local law may give you further rights. If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority. To use any of your rights, write to [email protected].
9. Analytics on this website
This website (not the app) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Until you accept cookies in the banner, it sends only anonymous visit signals without cookies; if you accept, it also sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart. Google receives your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open and where you came from; ads features are off, and we don’t combine this with your data in the app. You can change your choice anytime with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.
10. Children
The app is not for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using the app, contact us and we’ll delete the account.
11. Changes
We’ll tell you about changes to this policy in the app.
